사물들 Objects

물건을 정리하지 못한 채 살아온 한 사람은 이동을 멈추고 방 안에 축적된 사물들의 시간 속에 머문다. 한 채널에는 버려진 물건들이, 다른 채널에는 남겨진 사물들과 돌봄의 대상이 된 인형들이 병치된다. 화면은 쌓여가는 집 안의 풍경에서 이사를 거쳐 점차 비어가는 공간으로 전환된다. 버려짐과 남겨짐은 서로 반대인 것 같지만 사실은 욕망의 두 가지 면일 뿐이다. 그러므로, 물건을 버린다고 해서 그 물건의 시간은 끝나지 않는다. 도리어 버려진 물건을 통해 우리는 다시 다른 물건을 욕망하게 되므로 사물의 시간은 끝나지 않는다. 본 작업은 아카이브를 보존과 폐기, 이동과 변형이 반복되는 과정으로 바라보며, 인간의 시간과 다르게 흘러가는 사물의 시간이 인간의 인지하지 못한 순간에도 여전히 지속되고 있음을 빛과 어둠의 경계로 암시한다.
A person who cannot discard their belongings stops moving and remains in a room with objects. One channel presents discarded objects, while the other shows retained objects and cared-for dolls. The image shifts from a house filled with accumulated objects to a space that gradually empties through moving. Discarding and keeping may seem opposed, but they are two sides of desire, and discarding does not end an object’s time. This work approaches the archive as a process of preservation and disposal, movement and transformation, suggesting—at the boundary of light and darkness—that object-time persists at a rhythm different from human time.
